Air Conditioner Maintenance

The first day of Spring (March 19th) usually marks the beginning of air conditioning season. Before it gets hot outside, it is a good idea to have your system maintained. When an air conditioning maintenance is performed, the goal is to reduce the chances of a future breakdown and maintain proper efficiency/operating costs. A proper air conditioning maintenance is usually worth it in the long run.

While evaluating the system, we look for specific situations that may cause future issues. Having this performed can greatly reduce the chances of a breakdown during the hottest time of the year. In addition, we also pay attention to conditions that may be affecting the efficiency or performance of the air conditioner. The U.S. Department of Energy estimates that: "Replacing a dirty, clogged filter with a clean one can lower your air conditioner's energy consumption by 5% to 15%.". We are thorough in our air conditioning maintenance process because it can have a lasting affect on the system.

We take pride in having a thorough air conditioning maintenance process. To begin the maintenance, we evaluate the condition of the indoor AC coil and air delivery components; specifically looking for water drainage issues, refrigerant leaks and any conditions that may reduce efficiency. After that, we evaluate the outdoor unit and check the refrigerant charge. While outside, we wash the outdoor air conditioning unit with water; this can help the system perform better with increased efficiency.
